Slipnot 24-10-2008, My review.

My first blog and my first review of a live gig.

Okay went to the first Australian leg of the tour last night.. It went the fuck off. I managed to get 2nd row front in the pit.. Bad idea. The supporting band Sydonia came on they were really good they supported Stone Sour in Aus and the states last year, while their 30 minute set was goin on I saw James off to the side gettin' into it something he was really digging them and I think I saw Craig there with him gettin into the music also.

By them time Machine Head came on people were just going nuts, I ended up out of the pit half way through the set. I must say for a band I didn't know anything about they were amazing they know how to work a crowd and several circle pits. I think it was just before their second last song Robb was callin' out this dude down the front and sayin' how the chick next to him was head banging better then he was and he was all "If you're gonna get into heavy metal you gotta know how to head bang!" and he also asked if it was the kids 1st metal gig which ended up not to be but was only his 3rd so Robb excused him for that. Then they ended the night with the song Halo which was great.

Then what every came for, Slipknot. The intro song while the band came on stage was Iowa played over the P.A then they burst into Surfacing with pyro and lights everywhere, it was crazy. then they broke into The Blister Exists folled by Get This then a short break while Mick and Jim swapped guitars then Before I Forget which was just insane, so much energy. Clowns rig was awesome he has a massive LCD screen with 2 dv cams hooked up and all there were a few HD camera's floating around the front of the stage I saw so this could be hinting at something I think. During one of the songs towards the end a guy was able to climb the temp fencing they had up jump onto the stage and then be shooed off by Clown then taken out by the guard next to Clown and then escorted off the premesis. I also eventually worked my way back into the pit during a few songs for Slipknot Spit it Out being one, I was hoping for the zero bullshit/jump the fuck up pit but Corey and co didn't do it they just ran through the song as normal.

When they played Dead Memories and Psychosocial the entire crowd knew every damn word to each song which really impressed Corey and he commented that we're the first concert to have done that, which was pretty fucken awesome. During (sic) Joey's entire kit went up on the hydraulics which was an awesome way to end the night. It was def a night to remember.

Here's the setlist in full.. I'll also post video of Duality, (sic) and the intro and whatever I have when I can figure out what is what.
